The 2022 SFWSC Best of Class and Double Gold Medal for Taste both go to… 8 Mile Vodka! We are honored to receive these awards and representing Detroit! We look forward to continuing to deliver unparalleled smoothness.
The World Spirits Competition in San Francisco is a prestigious, annual competition that blind taste spirits from all over the world. Founded in 2000, the SFWSC is the oldest competition in North America and the largest spirits judging in the world. A total of 70 judges drawn from all over the world evaluated approximately 5,000 spirits over two weeks in April 2022. The competition is organized by the Tasting Alliance, an organization founded by Anthony Dias Blue, and in addition to the SFWSC includes spirit competitions in New York and Singapore and wine competitions in San Francisco and New York.
Out of 300 vodkas, flavored and not, 8 Mile Vodka received the highest medal in taste, the double gold, and won Best of Class for all vodkas!
“It is an honor to receive this award and the potential for another. We entered this competition knowing our product was great, but seeing the results in this caliber of competition, we are just thrilled. Sometimes you enter a competition hoping to get some recognition and have judges confirm what you already know, but this feels bigger than that. Double gold AND a finalist for Best In Class?! This is exciting,” said co-owner Michael Tomey.
“I think this is a lot bigger than we even realize at this moment. Getting our name out there and showing that our taste backs up our claims of smoothness is big for us,” co-owner George Bourkoulas said.
